RSV Vaccine (Arexvy® and Abrysvo®) – Private Service for Adults 60+

From November 2025 we will offer this service privately to complement our current vaccination offering.

Protect yourself against Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) with our private vaccination service. RSV is a common respiratory virus that can cause severe illness, particularly in adults aged 60 years and older and those with chronic health conditions. Our clinic offers private vaccination with either Arexvy® (GSK) or Abrysvo® (Pfizer) for individuals not eligible for the NHS programme or who prefer to access vaccination privately.

About the RSV Vaccines

Both Arexvy® and Abrysvo® help your immune system build protection against RSV and reduce the risk of serious infection, hospitalisation, or complications related to lung or heart conditions.

• Vaccine type: Arexvy® or Abrysvo® (depending on availability)
• Dose: Single injection into the upper arm
• Protection: Typically develops within a few weeks and lasts for one RSV season

Who Can Receive the Private RSV Vaccine?

Our private RSV vaccination service is suitable for adults aged 60 years and older. This includes those who are not eligible for a free NHS vaccination or prefer to receive the vaccine privately, apart from those who are pregnant or breastfeeding who are excluded from the private service.

It may be particularly beneficial for:
• Adults with chronic respiratory, cardiac or immune conditions
• Carers and those in close contact with vulnerable individuals
• Anyone wishing to reduce their risk of RSV-related illness

Side Effects and Safety

Both Arexvy® and Abrysvo® are well-tolerated vaccines. Common, mild side effects may include:
• Soreness, redness or swelling at the injection site
• Fatigue or mild headache
• Muscle aches or flu-like symptoms

Serious side effects are rare. Our trained pharmacists are fully qualified to manage any allergic reaction safely.

Booking and Cost

The private RSV vaccine service is available by appointment only for adults aged 60 and over. As the vaccine is ordered in specially, pre-payment is required before booking. The cost of the vaccine is £230 per dose.
